Before diving into a low-budget horror-comedy one is always concerned if the film will be any good. Some are so bad they're annoying, while others are so bad they're good. Atom The Amazing Zombie Killer definitely falls in the latter. The acting is atrocious-on-purpose, with cheesy, hilarious, one-liners, and plenty of tongue-in-cheek humor. It also pays homage to films like Street Trash, Dead Alive, EVERY Troma film EVER made, and even a nod to "Killer Klowns From Outer space" through the opening theme. It's very "Troma-Esque," and even features a cameo by Troma founder Lloyd Kaufman, as the deceased "Grampa Abacrombie!"

There's something in this film for everyone, really, and by "Everyone," I mean everyone that isn't a prude. If you're into Graveyard Cunnilingus? Covered! Masturbation with a lubed-up bowling pin? Covered! Graphic Pregnant Zombie-Birth? Covered! The devouring of a shit, (I mean "Fecal Matter"), squirting intestine? YES, YOU'RE IN LUCK! And that's only the tip of the hotdog penis, (You'll get that reference when you see the film)!

Gore-hounds, your eyes will light up with excitement! As this film features gore-galore, and more blood than a queen-size foam mattress could soak-up! My personal favorite was a scene where a mans head opened up, like a Pez dispenser, to expose his brain! And if that's not enough, you greedy little bastards, it also features Babette Bombshell, The Plus-Size Goddess of Gore, as well as Shawn C Phillips!

Currently "Atom The Amazing Zombie Killer" is still seeking the perfect distribution company, so I'm sorry if you've got the Cinema Blue-balls from reading this review, as you will have to wait a bit longer for it's eventual release. But, trust me, you'll be glad ya did. Atom The Amazing Zombie Killer is a fun film that doesn't take itself too seriously, making it a "Fun, so bad-it's-good cheese-fest!"

And that's all for today, class, and remember "Just because Spielberg didn't make it, doesn't mean it's shit."

The Taint (2010): Review

A male enhancement drug, called “Cockzantium” is released into the water supply, turning the male population into hormonally-crazed misogynistic killers. Sporting huge “Spooge-loaded” cocks, men everywhere go on a killing spree in which they kill-off the female population, while getting-off in the process. Characters Phil and Misandra find themselves in an all-out cock war as they battle the crazed copulation population in this horror-comedy by directors Drew Bolduc and Dan Nelson.

This film had me laughing so hard that my sides were hurting. First off, this film is bad, but it’s bad the way the Kaufman/Troma and John Waters films are bad. You have characters sporting wigs so bad that even thrift stores would throw them out; more male phalluses than a dozen gay porn films; more spooge than a sperm bank, and more blood than the Red Cross. You rarely see penises in horror-flicks, especially dozens of them spurting gallons of semen, (Hahahahahaha!), so this film is definitely something different.

For a low-budget film, the special effects in this were quite impressive. There are many head smashing, gunshot, and castration scenes that just looked disgustingly perfect. There’s loads of gore for the gorehounds, female nudity for the guys, comedy for the comedy hounds, and cocks and spunk galore! Something for almost everyone!

If you are easily offended and don’t like bad (on-purpose), cinema then you will absolutely detest this film. But if you’re like me and you sometimes like movies that don‘t take themselves seriously, like the works of Kaufman or Waters, then you should find this film right up your alley and should definitely give it a viewing. It’s as good as a bad film can be!

The makers of the film have just released a “Taint Package” that includes:

- DVD Of The Film
- Signed VHS of the Film
- 11 X 17 Poster
- Cock Skull Sticker

The Taint (Movie Trailer):

Slasher Film Sanctuary makes an appearance in New Return Of The Living Dead book!

“The Complete History Of The Return Of The Living Dead” has finally had a US release (January 18, 2011). Over the past year or so I have helped promote the book with my little ‘dog n pony’ site, as well as interviewed Co-Author Gary Smart. You can read everything I’ve posted on the book by clicking HERE. Upon sending him two ROTLD scripts he told me that I would get a thank you in the book, which blew me away in the most nerdy of ways. Later on I was offered the opportunity to submit my thoughts on The “Return Of The Living Dead” films, which was actually published in the book.! I wish I had filmed my reaction as I was flipping through the book, only to discover my name, and site, on page 276.

Yes I know, to some of you this is nothing, but to me this means so much to be included in a book that will become a bible for ‘Return of the Living Dead’ fans. Being a huge fan of the ‘Return of the Living Dead’ films this is an absolute kick-ass experience.

A HUGE THANKYOU to Christian Sellers and Gary Smart for making this amazing book and including me.

The book can be purchased at Amazon.Com (Something tells me that I’ll be picking up a few more copies! ;P)
